Energy practice

Saturday 9am

Our 45 minute energy practice is a combination of pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra (sound yoga) and meditation.

When we free the breath through pranayama we allow the life energy (prana) to flow through the body. It has the effect of energising, relaxing and healing the body. The perfect way to start your weekend!

This class is suitable for everyone.

Dharma IV

Thursday 7:30pm

Based on the teachings of beloved yoga master Sri Dharma Mittra, this challenging yet playful practice includes balances, twists, stretches, back bends and inversions.

Although Dharma Yoga is a physical practice, it is also a deeply spiritual journey that will introduce you to the many facets of yoga including pranayama (breathing techniques), kriyas (purification techniques), mudras (hand gestures) and meditation.

You do not need able to achieve all of the postures, just come with a willingness to try new things and be inspired!

It's recommended that you have at least 6-months consistent yoga practice.

Yin & Restore

Tuesday 7:30pm

This class combines two of our favourite deeply nourishing practices - Yin and Restorative yoga. We will start with a series of Yin yoga postures which usually involve floor-based poses, focused on the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine.

These areas are especially rich in connective tissues and can be tight and dense for many of us. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer to enable a sense of deep release.

In the second part of the class we will move to more restorative postures with the intention of relaxation rather than stretch. We slow right down to create a sense of deep rest. Postures are gentle, fully supported and held for a long time to give the body time to surrender completely.

In a busy, high stress world, these are the practice we should all be doing to calm our nervous system and bring a sense of peace. This class is suitable for everybody.

Deep Release

Monthly Sundays 4pm

An extended version of our Yin & Restore class, join us for a deeply nourishing 2-hour treat designed to lengthen and release tired muscles and quieten busy minds.

Suitable for all levels, the class will use long holds and deep stretching to create space and leave you feeling relaxed and ready for for the week ahead.

Charging practice

Sunday 9am

An open level class based on the teachings of beloved yoga master Sri Dharma Mittra. The charging practice is based on moving Kundalini energy from the base of the spine up to the crown chakra. In classical Hatha Yoga this is achieved through a series of backbends and forward folds.

The class is taught without vinyasas (movement between postures) which makes it accessible for all levels. You take each posture to the point that's appropriate for your own condition.

Although Dharma Yoga is a physical practice, it is also a deeply spiritual journey that will introduce you to the many facets of yoga including pranayama (breathing techniques), kriyas (purification techniques), mudras (hand gestures) and meditation.

These classes are recommended for anyone with some experience of yoga.

Pilates

Tuesdays 6pm

Pilates is a low-impact method of exercise that encourages safe flexibility, muscular strength and endurance.

A perfect complement to your yoga practice, Pilates emphasises proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance with movements focusing on one muscle group at a time, rather than whole body movement like yoga.

This class is suitable for everybody.
